Well you saw how much John was able to help me, I have no SPA repair experience minus this and replacing jets and stuff. My error just started up on its own, everything worked on mine except the heater, which w/ the flow switch not working forces the heater to shut down so it doesnt over heat, if, the water wasnt flowing. I had no problems w/ the board locking up or anything. My problem, I believe, was two of my switches were wired together and not connected on the board, not sure if I needed to replace the flow switch or not, but I know it's working right now , and it wasn't before. I have learned that there are only a few things that stop operation of the tub and you can do some research on findig out why its not working. My FLO error said it was the flow switch, so I found out if I had flow, which I did and went from there. I don't think my problem/solution will help you out, yours sounds more like a board problem, or temp sensor maybe, being it fritzes out at different temps, but thats ONLY my guess. Good luck, this board helped me out immensely, especially if you get someone like John to take the time and help you out like he did for me :)

: I have a 1998 Altamar that i've just purchased
: and am having a FLO message issue also. I've
: read this thread and it seems that you guys
: might have the problem fixed soon, so i was
: hoping i could tag along and get a solution
: for my tub also.

: I have purged the tub of air and added a new
: filter. The FLO message comes one when i
: lower the desired temperature below the
: water's current temperature. All of the Jets
: & Air work fine. When i raise the
: desired temp to or above the waters currrent
: temp - no problems. the message comes on,
: stays on, and freezes up the control panel
: only when 1. the jets & air are off and
: 2. when the desired temp is lower than the
: water temp.

: I'm thinking heating unit or bad board.

: Anybody?
