Well, you'll have a long run in order to heat up initially. Probably more than 24 hours, even in a warm climate. Once at temperature, it will probably kick on once or twice per hour for a few minutes each time.
Listen, why don't you try compromising with the old battleaxe. Tell her she can use the tub occasionally if she stops complaining.
