Jets wont switch off!

After thinking I was so clever for fixing the tub myself I half filled it and gave it a test run, all seemed good and I was impressed by the power of the jets, only problem is, they are permanantly on!
If the heat knob is switched off, the jets button works fine, press it and the jets come on, press it again and they go off, all normal.
But as soon as you turn the heat knob on, the jets start going and cant be turned off.
I know I'm a beginner but I'm pretty sure this cant be right.
This thing is really starting to annoy me now.
Any ideas anyone?
