: I am having my concrete pad poured this
: Thursday. The concrete contractor said that
: I could put the tub on it on Monday. Is this
: enough days for the concrete to cure, or is
: this standard? Thanks.
As I may be giving advice too late, I just found this Awesome page. I do nothing but Stamped (Textured) / Colored Concrete or Flagstone Decks around every vessel that I build. You have received excellent advice from these other, obviously Professionals. But, here's my take---First, there is only one thing ANY concrete Contractor, Manufacturer, or Placer can guarantee 100%, CONCRETE WILL CRACK !!! minimizing this is the goal of all. Shrinkage, OK, Structural, NOT OK. It IS a chemical curing process stimulated & expedited by water, everyone's friend...But, facts are facts---ANY CEMENTISIOUS PRODUCT WILL MAKE 95% CURE IN 28 DAYS...If you desire, placing the spa early won't "kill" the concrete, but it ain't gonna help. Personally, I would make sure and place my concrete in a way that would include a perimeter & possibly one mid-beam. Let the pad cure, with the aid of watering the pad, for 30 days. Then place your vessel. You want to do this once, correct? Do it right the first time, Brutha, & save yourself many headaches. How's it go, "Measure twice, cut once" ?? Hope this is helpful & not too late...Don't let us Contractors rush ya...Kozmo
