In Response To: Re: CalSpas GFCI Hookup w/3 wire service (tom)

Thanks for your response. Its is required to use 6# wiring for 50Amps for all wires including the ground? or can a 3-wire 6# with 10# uninsulated ground be used?

Thanks

: At the Main Panel you have the 2 hot wires and
: the grounded neutral. In the main panel, the
: white and the ground wires are bonded to the
: cabinet on the same bus bar. From here you
: would feed the 4 wires to the spa GFCI
: sub-panel. (This means that in the main
: panel, the white (neutral) and green
: (ground) are on the same bar. In the spa
: sub-panel you would have the ground wire
: terminate at the ground bus bar (which is
: bonded to this cabinet. The white (neutral)
: wire terminates on a separate bus bar which
: is iunsulated from this cabinet. Then from
: the spa GFCI disconnect you have your 4 wire
: set-up (the 2 hots, insulated neutral, and
: bonded ground).
