John,
I agree completely. I plan to replace the mechanicals (Control Unit, Pump, Heater); I have just been debating about the topside controls. Although the digital/electronic controls give you better control of your spa; keeping the "retro" pneumatics seems to fit with the vintage spa. More than likely, I will replace everything; that way I will not have to worry about anything going out in the near term.On a side note, is there a particular aftermarket control systemthat youhave had good luck with? There are quite a few options out there. I would prefer to purchase the entire unit, ready to plumb in my tub.
Thanks for all of your great advice on this site.
