I too bought a United Spa, and had become enraged with some of the responses. My United Spa, had been delivered with the motor miss-wired. So when the cleaning cycle comes on, the motor would run on high. I attempted to engage the problem with the local sales rep, but invain. Eventually I got through to the service department. I actually found them to be quite cordial, but not of too much use. I am an electronics engineer, and decided to take the sides off the tub, and try to diagnose the problem myself. After tracing through the controller box, it appeared the motor was miss-wired. I called the service department, and they were suprised. Their response was, hey you are the first person to find the problem....!!!! thanx. They asked for the serial number on the spa, but it wasn't where they said it was. It turned out to still be in the plastic instruction bag. They then instructed me where to mount it. Wow, now I'm the assembler and the technician. The next problem was, there was no way to have just low speed while in the tub. I would have to take the side panel off, and switch the 24 hour button. I eventually figured out a circuit that could be added to the controller to add that function. I talked to the engineer at the controller manufacturer and sent him my schematic. Wow now I'm also the United engineer. Kool, the tub comes with a job. Not to be totally disgruntaled, the components in the spa are of good quality, and since I have fixed all the problems, I enjoy the spa almost daily, I'm also sure it will function well for a long time.
