confused

I'm confused. I drained my tub on Friday, gave it a good cleaning , filled it and then tested the water on Sunday. The TA was at 40ppm, the ph was a little high (it took two drops of reagent to bring it to the ideal range). Of course I needed to raise my TA so I added 10 tbsp according to the chart to trya and get it to 100ppm. I checked it three hours later and the TA was 110 pretty darn good! I need to lower the ph...if I use spa down it will lower the ph, but it will also lower the TA...right? So what am I to do?
