A couple of thoughts. First, you better be sure that this is a UK version softub requiring 220 volts, as the US version is strictly 115 volts. Second, if you are using the correct voltage, it sounds like a motor problem.
John
: Hi, hope someone can help me as I just paid
: £400 (against the better judgement of my
: wife)for a second hand 220 softub, If I cant
: get it working, I will be sleeping in the
: spare room!
: I think the tub is a few years old, it has
: Hydromate II on the control panel, temp knob
: and 2 buttons, one reset and one for jets, 3
: LEDs.
: Right, when I first put it together and plugged
: it in (standard UK 3 pin 240V) the power and
: heater lights came on, but no motor noise at
: all. When the jet button was pressed, the
: LED came on but again, nothing. I left it a
: while and tried again, this time the motor
: whirred for about 3 seconds, then the GFI
: tripped on the outdoor socket (there is no
: GFI on the tub cable as I've seen on some of
: these threads). This happened time and time
: again so I tried bypassing the GFI and
: plugging straight into the wall socket.
: Again, 3 seconds of noise then cut out, no
: lights, nothing. Left it a while and it
: seemed to reset, but keeps doing exactly the
: same thing every time I try.
: Please, someone save my marraige!!
