Last year when I got the tub I super chlorinated it to about 100 PPM before using it. I drained it in an area that I wanted to kill the vegitation, all 400 gallons of it - it didn't do anything.

I drain my tub on the lawn all the time, just let the chlorine or Bromine get to 0 and you shouldn't have a problem ... although I don't know if I would use it for vegitables though.
