In Response To: throat irratation (Steven Gray)

: In the past couple of weeks when using the spa
: there is a chemical mist or something in the
: air causing me to cough and irratate my
: throat. It reallly hasn't bothered my
: skin...maybe my eyes now that I think about
: it. I hate to admit it, but I haven't tested
: my water in probably two months. Again, the
: coughing only started about two weeks ago. I
: will test my water this evening...my spa
: retailer said my ph may be low. All of the
: chemicals seem so confusing, if the ph is
: very low and I need to raise it drastically
: then I 'll either have to use spa up or soda
: ash...I don't have soda ash, I do have spa
: up.
: How much neglect is needed to damage your
: equipment? I'm fearful I may have damaged my
: beautiful $9,000 spa!!

First of all, test or get tested, your water and act accordingly. What type of sanitizing system are you using that you don't need to monitor it?

Any chance you're using Baqua Spa? That crap made us cough a lot so we switched to Bromine, and now di-chlor.
