In Response To: Days for concrete to cure (Julie)

: I am having my concrete pad poured this
: Thursday. The concrete contractor said that
: I could put the tub on it on Monday. Is this
: enough days for the concrete to cure, or is
: this standard? Thanks.

Concrete reaches its design strength in 28 days if it is kept moist the entire time. Letting it dry out on top and the sides will decrease the total strengh.

After you pour the slab and it sets up, spray it down with a garden hose and keep it under a plastic sheet. Spray water under it as needed to keep it moist. If you can do this for the first 7 days you will increase the compessive strength a bunch.
