Re: Clearwater Spas

I have had a Clearwater Spa (Pebble Beach model) for a little of 2 years now and love it. I bought it from a reseller on the East Coast who has since gone out of business. So for repairs I'm on my own, but luckily I haven't needed any yet!!
: Hi. I'm thankful I found this site!
: In the past we owned a Hot Springs spa and at
: the time I thought it was ok. It was
: reliable but there weren't many jets and i
: didn't feel like I was getting much
: hydrotherapy out of it. Of course it was the
: Bengal which was one of their more
: "affordable" models.: We recently moved to Seattle though and I
: wanted to try and get a higher quality hot
: tub this time around. I was going to stick
: with a name I was already familiar with like
: Hot Springs or Sundance but an electrician
: that was working on the house we are renting
: told us about Clearwater. I'm not familiar
: with this company, they are local to Seattle
: and they manufacture their hot tubs here. I
: don't see much information on this site
: about them either. What I do know is I did a
: wet test in their St. Andrews model and
: really liked it! It had something like 50
: jets in it and I thought they are placed in
: great spots for a good hydrotherapy spa
: experience. The price was $6,800 which seems
: like a great deal compared to what I'm
: seeing with Hot Springs or Sundance where
: the models we like are in the $8,000-$9,000
: range.: So my question is.... does this company build
: quality hot tubs? Usually when I see
: something that seems too good to be true I'm
: skeptical. Does this company have a history
: of manufacturing good quality hot tubs or I
: will be calling for service on a regular
: basis? And since they are locally based
: should I expect great service if and when I
: need it?? I'm also wondering if
: having a larger # of jets makes the hot tub
: less efficient. I have not seen a company
: other than Clearwater that makes hot tubs
: with such a large # of jets. They have
: models with 80 jets! If it's such a great
: innovation why are they the only company
: offering so many jets??: One thing that the electrician told me that
: seemed to make sense in terms of the cheaper
: price was that since this company is local
: to Seattle I'm not paying for the built in
: shipping charges that the big California
: based companies charge for getting their
: product to their out of state showrooms.
: That's fine. But should I be concerned about
: shotty workmanship because of the more
: affordable pricing?: I know I'm kind of rambling here, just hoping
: to get some honest advice from the experts
: here.: Thanks
: Mike
