Hi! I finally decided to put together a profile.

My name is Brad - a native Vermonter and, I hope, someone who will always be able to claim Vermont as my home. I am married to a wonderful woman and my best friend - her name is Nancy. We are fortunate in that, at least for now, she is able to be a full-time Mom! She is from Boxford, MA (a bit NW of Boston) - also spent time in Arizona in the Tucson area. We have three kids - a daughter (age 12 - almost), a son (age 10) and another son (age 2.5). We live in northwestern Vermont in the Champlain Valley - halfway up a small foothill of Mount Mansfield (Vermont's tallest mountain). We have spectacular views from the southwest to the northwest and can see Whiteface Mountain in New York and its ski trails on clear days along with a beautiful section of the Adirondacks. Sunsets are beautiful and we can see storms coming long before they arrive at our house - even more fun now that we can enjoy both while sitting in our hot tub. We are fortunate to own a nice-sized piece of land - mostly forested - with deer, fox, coyotes, owls, hawks, songbirds and more as regular visitors along with an occasional moose and bear. It is a great place for kids to grow up and learn about nature and its beauty and secrets. Oh, yes, we currently have three cats (formerly had three dogs, but old age claimed them all). And, we are the originators of the famous recipe for "Margaritas - Vermont style"!

I own a small, private, commercial environmental microbiology lab in Williston, VT. You can read about it at www.analyticalservices.com . I formed it in 1993 - and have seen the pros and cons of business ownership. We deal principally with drinking water and indoor air. But, we get into a number of different areas as well - we even test ticks to see whether they carry the bacterium that can cause Lyme Disease. We also test water treatment devices that use chemicals, UV, ozone, etc. for purifying water - hence my interest and thoughts on ozone application to spas as well as on some aspects of the basic disinfection and water treatment chemistry of spas. We deal with clients from all necks of our wonderful country - great people to deal with, learn from, and, hopefully, help with their needs.

We own a new HotSpring Grandee (October 2001), are new to spa ownership and use, and love it. We use Nature2, dichlor and continuous ozone as our basic treatment approach. I am learning a lot about spas - use, care, etc. from research and from this forum - and am enjoying the learning process very much.

I enjoy this forum immensely. I think it is a great place for people of different backgrounds, interests, geographic locations, etc. to be able to bring ideas, experiences, knowledge and suggestions together. What is new and wondrous to some may be old and common to others - the diversity represented is a good and powerful combination.

I hope to be able to contribute to this forum - as well as benefit from it. Hope you all have a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous 2002!!
